Important Bicycle Rides:
In my mind this is one of the most important rides to ever go on. The basis of this ride is to honor all the cyclists who have been hurt or killed on the road. It is a silent slow-paced ride (max. 12 mph/20 kph) in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. This usually scheduled in May, around the third Wednesday of the month. The support of this ride grows every year, and is held world-wide. Including Antartica...
This is the American Diabetes Associations Tour de Cure fundraising ride. I usually ride in the
Long Beach CA ride. I have a number of Friends and Family who are fighting this disease, and it is an honor to ride in this effort every year. I ride with the team

'Ride' - This came to me one day, it felt imporant at the time so I wrote it down, and posted it several places.
History:
I rode a bicycle everywhere growing up. My Bicyles were my favorite mode of Transportation for a Very Long Time. My first serious job after High School was at a Bicycle shop. There are Days that I miss B&H Bicycles. I had a lot of fun the years that I was there, and I learned alot. I went through Schwinn School while I was there, and that was quite a challenge. I rode my bicycle from South Pasadena to Whittier and back every day for a week so I could go. I still have my certificate from that school somewhere. I rode my bicycle to and from PCC for a while, before my second job took off, and I had to drive.
Bicycling trailed off after that, once the jobs got further and further away. I rode to and from Glendale a number of times, when my truck gave out at one point, before I bought that First New Car.
I still had bicycles around, and I rode from time to time. had a trailer, and carted my kids around.
Now it is 25+ years later, and it is time to get back into it again, and in a regular and semi-serious manner. First for my health, then for transportation. This ought to be fun!
